Troubleshooting & Download
Here are some common issues that can be solved quickly, avoiding any payment processing interruptions.
Balancing: You may see this message while in Admin Mode, when you are closing out a batch. This is to alert you to a discrepancy between the number of transactions entered, and the number of transactions completed.
Chargebacks: A chargeback is a debt to a merchant's account from a previous transaction. The reasons can be the result of a submission error, unauthorized transactions or cardholder disputes.
Processing: Fraudulent transactions made with lost or stolen cards are a significant threat to any merchant. Even if the transaction is approved, there might still be some liability on the part of the merchant.
Terminal Hardware:
If your POS terminal begins to "act up" as they sometimes do, simply powering off and turning it back on can solve the problem; just as you would do with your PC. The memory will reset, and often times, problems are eliminated. You can also check to make sure your terminal is plugged in, and its cables are attached correctly. Many problems can often be solved with these simple procedures.
If you have more complex issues than that, here are some user manuals for the PayTech payment processing terminals we supply:
